I'm just creating space for what is still to come, deep into the Sound of Nothingness…
Amsterdam, June 19, 2025 — Italian techno provocateur Maike Depas stares straight into the abyss with his latest EP, SOUND OF NOTHINGNESS — a four-track descent into hard techno in its most innovative and relentless form. Set for release via The Innovation Studio Records on June 19, the EP finds Depas pushing his signature sound into even sharper and darker territories, cementing him as one of the leading producers in the surging hard scenes.
The EP’s title track sets the pace: raw, driving, and laced with moments of melody that cut through the noise without softening the blow. With a vocal that declares, “I’m just creating space for what is still to come,” the track sets the stage for the tour-de-force thrillers that follow.
‘Going Back’ ups the pressure, dropping fans into a battlefield of sub bass and stabbing synths, while ‘Think of Me’ unsheathes the techno sword, slicing through dancefloors with off-kilter leads and twisting the blade with a dominating kick for maximum effect. Berlin’s Tham ties a knot around the release with his remix of ‘Sound of Nothingness’, proverbially dropping the original in a vat of acid to create a percolating club weapon with an even heavier focus on the low end.
As his first extended release since last year's 'Sexy Devil Horse', ‘SOUND OF NOTHINGNESS' proves that Maike Depas is not just keeping pace, but continuing to shape the sounds of today's hard underground. Pre-save the brand-new EP here ahead of its worldwide release on June 19.
